The Lagos State University Muslim Alumni (LASUMA) has finalized arrangements for her highly anticipated pre-Ramadan 2025 Lecture.
The event will take place on Sunday, February 16th, 2025, at the Makanjuola Auditorium, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos, starting off at 10:00 a.m.
The lecture themed, “Ramadan: The Tasks Ahead,” will be delivered by the renowned Islamic scholar, Shaykh Dr. Idris Lukman Sekoni, Director of Darus Sunnah, Akure, Ondo State. The session will provide invaluable insights into preparing for the spiritual demands of the holy month Ramadan and embracing its virtues.

In addition to the lecture, the event will serve as a platform for fostering the alumni unity and reconnecting graduates with their alma mater. Distinguished personalities, including the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, notable alumni, and esteemed members of the university community, are expected to grace the occasion.
Dr. Abdul-Azeez A. Anjorin, the President of LASUMA, and the former Head of Department of Microbiology in LASU highlighted the importance of the programme, saying: “This lecture is not only about spiritual preparations for Ramadan but also about fostering a sense of community and collective responsibility among our alumni and the global community. It is an opportunity to reflect on our duties and give back to the university that shaped us.

In effect the invitation is all inclusive, “All the LASUMA prominent members in the Presidency, serving Senators, Commissioners, Executive Chairmen of Local Governments and all other political office holders, royal and spiritual fathers, permanent secretaries, very senior public and corporate officials, high ranking Armed Forces Officers, Hon. Justices, Consultants, our amiable Vice Chancellors, all the LASUMA Deputy Vice Chancellors and members in the Diaspora are all expected to grace the event as special guests.”
“The event is open to all Muslim faithful and the entire general public. Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of this enriching opportunity to prepare for the holy month of Ramadan,” Dr Anjorin noted.

The Lagos State University Muslim Alumni (LASUMA) is the umbrella body for all graduates of Lagos State University home and abroad in all works life, from all faculties including Engineering in Epe, College of Medicine in Ikeja, Science, Law, Arts, Management Science etc.
LASUMA is dedicated to promoting unity, progress, and the spiritual and academic development of her members, while at the same time contributing to the growth of Lagos State University and the entire community at large. LASUMA recently held her annual AGM and launched a new website @ www.lasuma.org.ng where it awarded scholarships sponsored by Senator Idiat Adebule and Hon Rosuluh Idowu, to students of various facilities studying in Lagos State University.
